ABC's Exclusive "Zimmerman Rescue Hero" Story Falling Apart

Was George Zimmerman's Heroic Scenario Cooked Up or Staged By A Friend And Supporter In the Seminole Sheriff's Department?

ABC News is getting a really bad reputation lately.  First, they screwed up a bunch of reporting on the Boston Marathon Bombings and didn't run retractions on most of it... Then, they went to press with FAKE emails to support the "Benghazi Scandal" that Republicans cooked up.  Now they may have really out-done themselves.

Everyone in America heard about only TWO news stories over the past couple of days.  The first, understandably, is that the Royal Family has a new member.  Congrats.   The 2nd was that George Zimmerman, a recently freed murderer had heroically saved a family of four from a "fiery auto accident", thereby proving that he's just an honorable man who only wants to do good in the world and is misunderstood.

The latter story is preposterous on the face of it... and anyone who can't see that is blinded by wishful thinking.  But let's look at some things that are coming to light about this incident now that ABC got their mileage out of it.

According to some industrious bloggers with a poorly designed site, the officer who responded to the auto accident that is the subject of this story is named Patrick Rehder who lives in Lake Mary, Florida.   Here's a supposed copy of that incident report (and I say "supposed" only because I have not personally verified it myself):

Now, this is also supported by Patrick Rehder's facebook posts after the incident which look like this:

But the story doesn't end there... No, it can never be that simple, can it?  Patrick has a number of other facebook posts from before the incident took place and it turns out that he's been a very public supporter of George Zimmerman's defense for a long time... Isn't THAT a coincidence?

Here are just a couple of examples:

In fact, MOST of Rehder's facebook posts have been about the trial... So how is it that a member of the same Sheriff's Office which is tasked with guarding Zimmerman, just happens to be same officer who responded to a car accident that Zimmerman just suddenly showed up at to become a hero?  And what are the odds that the same Sheriff's Officer would have 128 friends who are ALSO Zimmerman supporters as well as staunch 2nd Amendment Rights advocates?

  1. You seem to have about as much 'proof' that this was faked as the prosecution had against Zimmerman. That is to say: NONE!

    1. Umm... Isn't it reliant upon the media to prove that the stories ARE true before they run them? Otherwise it's just gossip, right?

    2. You seem to not understand how the American legal system works. The State of Florida could not have brought charges against George Zimmerman is the 'proof' they had is NONE! that a crime was committed. You also seem to not understand that "not guilty of second-degree murder" is the same thing as "he didn't kill a person".

    3. He DID KILL A PERSON. He admitted it right away at the scene.

    4. To jdubhub: "not guilty of second-degree murder" IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT the same thing as "he didn't kill a person". NOT AT ALL.

      Blind Freddy can see that.

    5. well if the news media doesn't need evidence to support its faux news why the hell should the public - but hey most of us didn't believe Z-ero's story at trial and would not believe he helped a family from a fiery death - but it serves to note that the family Z-ero is supposed to have helped was white my bet would be had it been a black man driving he would have blamed him for the accident and left him to a fiery death

    6. The only 2 sources being quoted are

      1. Newsmax.. an openly conservative group, who openly dismiss factual data if it doesn't favor their ultra-conservative slant.

      2. Fox News.. who credits their information back to Newsmax

Every other news agency quotes Newsmax or Fox.

This story stinks as much as Zimmerman's ever changing story about how and why he killed an unarmed child.

    7. I think Jdubhub was trying to say that the original commenter does NOT know the difference between "not guilty" and "didn't kill a person". (Assuming that most reasonable people DO understand that difference.)

    8. "You also seem to not understand that 'not guilty of second-degree murder' is the same thing as 'he didn't kill a person'."

It's you who doesn't understand how the American legal system works. In court, "not guilty" does not mean "innocent" (or "did not commit the crime as accused"). Ever. It means the prosecution couldn't convince the jury that the accused did what the accused was accused of doing.

I might not be able to convince you that I'm god, but that doesn't mean I'm not. (Conversely, if I were to convince you, that wouldn't necessarily mean that I am.)

      Also, this —

"The State of Florida could not have brought charges against George Zimmerman is the 'proof' they had is NONE! that a crime was committed."

      — may be the most cocked-up sentence I've ever read. It appears you left out a word or nine.

    10. azspot.net (best site on the web imo) over the last year and a half had many great links, quotes, cartoon's and so forth regarding the innocence of Trayvon Martin, the 3 arrest/criminal records of George Zimmerman (the love child of Rush Limbaugh, Barney Fife and Police Chief Wiggum) his racism, hate of others different from him, fear of minority's, and the weak, corrupt jury in the trial and the weak, corrupt state of Florida.

Dr. Phil and several other notable people also pointed out inconsistencies in the Zimmerman trial
      and asked some great questions.

If this rescue did in face take place, is true and was not staged(where are the media pics of this event/crash btw?) then Zimmerman is a very powerful man, able to rescue a family of 4 trapped in an SUV with only 1 other man. He must have the strength of a firefighter. How he could not fight back
an unarmed 17 year old is beyond me. Not to mention Zimmerman had time to pull out his gun, aim and pull the trigger.

  4. OMG...it would be shocking to learn that the same police department that let a murderer leave the scene of a crime for over 40 days would do something like make up a story about a car accident. Simply shocking

  5. There is no way this happened at dinnertime, broad daylight in Sanford and no one got a picture of it. Any bystander who snapped a pic on their cellphone would be posting it or coming out of the woodwork for their 15 minutes of fame.
Just another Zimmerman lie, one of many.

    1. Yeah, the timing is very convenient. He showed up after the accident happened, assisted another unnamed man in rescuing them, then left the scene as soon as deputies arrived ("making contact" with one). The Seminole County Sheriff has nothing about it on their website, no daily report about it, just a press release-type statement about it days after it allegedly happened. No witnesses, no photos, no video, no corroboration, no nothing.

What we're saying is that Benghazi is not the worst attack to happen in our lifetimes, it's not the equivalent of the Shoah, it's not worse than 9/11, and the president did not do the things he was accused of doing according to the Fox News right-wing narrative aided by months of Republican hearings in the Senate trying desperately to find facts that would support the preordained partisan narrative.

By the tone of your reply, you are one of the people who watched Fox News with mouth agape and fists clenched in poutrage because you are willing to believe the worst about President Obama uncritically. 13. He's a Damn child molester of a 6 year old girl. That should've been talked about so people can see he's not some harmless guy that was protecting people when in fact he had a history of predatory actions upon a minor. That would've showed him just as he is. A child molesting criminal whom for his own intent and purposes result to predatory tactics to abuse and prey on a minor child. He's not some innocent guy trying to do the right thing. What about that child who had to hear how nice and upstanding he was how afraid he was when he terrified her by molesting her and is the monster in her dreams. He was out stalking that night peeping I bet but saw trayvon and thought he had competition. He's a sick b pervert and now murderer. He's gonna kidnap and kill a child next..... smdh. Disgusting

Guess he wanted the presents. smdh He begged for money and idiots sent it in by the truck load. He then paid his credit cards and bills off, bought iTunes and then hid what was left. What did the idiots do? They sent him more. lol He hadn't paid rent in months, but called the cops on the homeowner when she wanted her money. He called the cops when his caterer wanted paid. He called the cops on every black he saw, even a very young child. The racists truly need a new "hero".

    1. It sounds absurd, but there may be some truth to all these comments from this anonymous user. There is a release of notes on all the 911 calls that Zimmerman made going back since 2004. It's worth Googling that story because a few of them look kind of silly or paranoid. Some of them are kind of strange too. Like the one about the pit bull that suddenly appeared on his doorstep and the one about his sister seeing strangers approaching the house. Zimmerman attracts chaos wherever he goes, it seems.

  18. Hmmmm wouldn't the police car have a camera on it to verify that this incident actually happened? Or does the video erase after a couple of days......just the amount of time that passed before they announced "Saint George"s" rescue of the family. Where are the photos for the insurance comanpy where is the report for the police department. Did someone say the bags did not deply????? This is very very very fishy and it stinks to. And why would the "Family" not want to make a statement? Very strange indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So this has gone from a minor accident with no injuries to now the car was "on fire" and Zimmerman put it out with a fire extinguisher that was in his car? That's the latest spin on the accident that I've heard. You would think that a car overturned, on fire, and a family trapped inside would be catnip for the media - you would think it would have been on the news later that night (the accident allegedly took place around 6PM on Wednesday night if you believe the reports), and a major story in the newspaper the next day. This would be a HUGE story in a town like Sandford.

But we don't find out about this accident until days later, when, conveniently, Trayvon Martin's parents started making statements and Obama finally spoke on the verdict. I'm wondering if the police and/or Zimmerman were thinking the family would make a media statement about how Zimmerman "saved them", then when they didn't, leaked the information to the media about Zimmerman being a "hero."

I'm not saying the accident was staged or not. I honestly don't know. But Zimmerman's lawyers can't really be that dense to realize how sketchy and incredulous this entire scenario is and they shouldn't be shocked that people see this as a cheap PR stunt to try and prop up a child-molesting, woman-beating, racist, child murderer.

    ReplyDelete
  22. and yet the police report says NOTHING about a burning vehicle? "Splash splash" goes the fishy stench in this report. I am no longer proud to say I raised my children in that county at all. But not to change the whole subject. I know that if someone is charged with DV the attacker may NOT have a weapon ever. Oh and still burns my gourds that HOW DARE Z say he was fearful enough for his life. Why is he the only one who could claim that. Perhaps TM was more fearful of the attacker who knew his way around that housing complex vs a teen who had only been there a short period of time?

Stepping off my soapbox. Back to our regular programming... sorry we cant change the world today.

  24. Anon., G. Zimmerman is the biggest crybaby and craven coward in the world, and yes, that shrieking on the 911 call IS him; Trayvon, only 17, died like a man, swinging his fists. He knew Zimmerman was out for blood, and he didn't want to die with a bullet in his back, so he took one in the heart. Let's honor him by continuing to speak out every time this Z-Coward shows his ugly mug!!! Trayvon Martin was a free citizen of the United States of America, and he had a RIGHT to walk on that sidewalk. George Zimmerman had NO police powers whatsoever, and now -- in poetic justice -- HE has no power AT ALL. Good luck & good riddance-
